Miss Elizabeth

Elizabeth Wardell began dancing at the age of three. She has trained in many styles of dance, including tap, hip-hop, jazz and musical theatre. She is going into her sixth year teaching at The Heart of Dance Studio under instruction from Deb Stachniak and her third Movement Dance Studio, where she is focusing on tap and inclusive movement. Elizabeth has extensive knowledge of tap history and eight years of experience sharing this knowledge with the next generation of tap and hip-hop dancers. She has recently graduated from Concordia University of Edmonton with a Bachelor of Education and is currently teaching in an Interactions classroom with Edmonton Pubic Schools. Elizabeth has had plenty of performing experience, some of which includes The NextSteps production “For the Love of Tap” in 2015. The Next Steps was an advanced tap technique and professional development program founded by Jenna Werhun. In this program, Elizabeth learned many essential skills, such as running a class by being allowed to teach her peers, as well as choreographing and performing an original piece for the first time. A few major dance accomplishments in her dance career include being part of the Senior Elite Tap Team at Powerhouse Dance for three consecutive years, where she had the chance to work with choreographers such as Travis Kights, Brock Jellison and Jason Marquette. In addition to this, Elizabeth travelled to Las Vegas, Nevada, in July of 2017 with her elite team for the Velocity Dance Convention season finale, where she took classes from a wide array of professional dancers.
